ataugeiþ mis skatt: hvis habaiþ manleikan jah ufarmeli? andhafjandans þan qeþun: kaisaris.
- — δείξατέ μοι δηνάριον: τίνος ἔχει εἰκόνα καὶ ἐπιγραφήν; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν, καίσαρος.
- — Shew me a penny. Whose image and superscription hath it? They answered and said, Caesar's.

- — οἱ δὲ ἤνεγκαν. καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, τίνος ἡ εἰκὼν αὕτη καὶ ἡ ἐπιγραφή; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτῷ, καίσαρος.
- — And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.

jah swaswe berum manleikan þis airþeinins, swa bairaima jah frisaht þis himinakundins.
- — καὶ καθὼς ἐφορέσαμεν τὴν εἰκόνα τοῦ χοϊκοῦ, φορέσομεν καὶ τὴν εἰκόνα τοῦ ἐπουρανίου.
- — And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
