Matthew 5:47: ^CA jah jaba i gole iþ þans frijonds izwarans þata ine i, hv e m ana g izo taujiþ? niu jah motarjos þata s a mo taujand?; — καὶ ἐὰν ἀσπάσησθε τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν μόνον, τί περισσὸν ποιεῖτε; οὐχὶ καὶ οἱ ἐθνικοὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ποιοῦσιν;; — And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
Matthew 5:48: ^CA s ija iþ nu jus fullatoja i, swa swe atta izwar s a in hi m ina m fullatoji s i st.; — ἔσεσθε οὖν ὑμεῖς τέλειοι ὡς ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ οὐράνιος τέλειός ἐστιν.; — Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 6:2: ^CA þan nu tauja i s arm a ion, ni haurnja i s faura þus, swa swe þa i liutans taujand in g aqumþi m jah in g aruns i m, e i hauhja indau fra m m anna m; a m en qiþa izwi s: andne mun m izdon s e ina.; — ὅταν οὖν ποιῇς ἐλεημοσύνην, μὴ σαλπίσῃς ἔμπροσθέν σου, ὥσπερ οἱ ὑποκριταὶ ποιοῦσιν ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ ἐν ταῖς ῥύμαις, ὅπως δοξασθῶσιν ὑπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων: ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν.; — Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Am en, qiþa izwi s þate i haband m izdon s e ina.; — καὶ ὅταν προσεύχησθε, οὐκ ἔσεσθε ὡς οἱ ὑποκριταί: ὅτι φιλοῦσιν ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ ἐν ταῖς γωνίαις τῶν πλατειῶν ἑστῶτες προσεύχεσθαι, ὅπως φανῶσιν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις: ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἀπέχουσιν τὸν μισθὸν αὐτῶν.; — And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Matthew 6:6: ^CA iþ þu þan bidja i s, g a g g in heþjon þe ina jah g alukands haurda i þe ina i bide i du attin þe ina m m a þa m m a in fulhsnja, jah atta þe ins s a e i s a i hv iþ in fulhsnja, us g ibiþ þus in ba irhte in.; — σὺ δὲ ὅταν προσεύχῃ, εἴσελθε εἰς τὸ ταμεῖόν σου καὶ κλείσας τὴν θύραν σου πρόσευξαι τῷ πατρί σου τῷ ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ: καὶ ὁ πατήρ σου ὁ βλέπων ἐν τῷ κρυπτῷ ἀποδώσει σοι.; — But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?

Are ye not much better than they?
