Nehemiah chapter 6
- Nehemiah 6:14
- D .... praufete, þaiei þrafstidedun mik.
- — Memento mei, Domine, pro Tobia et Sanaballat, juxta opera eorum talia : sed et Noadiæ prophetæ, et ceterorum prophetarum, qui terrebant me.
- — My God, think thou upon Tobiah and Sanballat according to these their works, and on the prophetess Noadiah, and the rest of the prophets, that would have put me in fear.
- — Gedenk, mijn God, aan Tobia en aan Sanballat, naar deze zijn werken; en ook aan de profetes Noadja, en aan de andere profeten, die mij gezocht hebben vreesachtig te maken.
- — Souviens-toi, ô mon Dieu, de Tobija et de Sanballat, et de leurs oeuvres! Souviens-toi aussi de Noadia, la prophétesse, et des autres prophètes qui cherchaient à m'effrayer!
- Nehemiah 6:15

- — Completus est autem murus vigesimo quinto die mensis Elul, quinquaginta duobus diebus.
- — So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days.
- — De muur nu werd volbracht, op den vijf en twintigsten van Elul, in twee en vijftig dagen.
- — La muraille fut achevée le vingt-cinquième jour du mois d'Élul, en cinquante-deux jours.
- Nehemiah 6:16
- D jah warþ, swe hausidedun fiands unsarai allai, jah ohtedun allos þiudos þos bisunjane unsis, jah atdraus agis in augona ize abraba; jah ufkunþedun þatei fram guda unsaramma warþ usfulliþ þata waurstw.
- — Factum est ergo cum audissent omnes inimici nostri, ut timerent universæ gentes quæ erant in circuitu nostro, et conciderent intra semetipsos, et scirent quod a Deo factum esset opus hoc.
- — And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.
- — En het geschiedde, als al onze vijanden dit hoorden, zo vreesden al de heidenen, die rondom ons waren, en zij vervielen zeer in hun ogen; want zij merkten, dat dit werk van onzen God gedaan was.
- — Lorsque tous nos ennemis l'apprirent, toutes les nations qui étaient autour de nous furent dans la crainte; elles éprouvèrent une grande humiliation, et reconnurent que l'oeuvre s'était accomplie par la volonté de notre Dieu.
- Nehemiah 6:17

- — Sed et in diebus illis multæ optimatum Judæorum epistolæ mittebantur ad Tobiam, et a Tobia veniebant ad eos.
- — Moreover in those days the nobles of Judah sent many letters unto Tobiah, and the letters of Tobiah came unto them.
- — Ook schreven in die dagen edelen van Juda vele brieven, die naar Tobia gingen; en die van Tobia kwamen tot hen.
- — Dans ce temps-là, il y avait aussi des grands de Juda qui adressaient fréquemment des lettres à Tobija et qui en recevaient de lui.
- Nehemiah 6:18
- D managai auk in Iudaia ufaiþjai weisun imma, unte megs was Saixaineiins, sunaus Aieirins, jah Ioanan sunus is nam dauhtar Maisaullamis, sunaus Barakeiins, du qenai.
- — Multi enim erant in Judæa habentes juramentum ejus, quia gener erat Secheniæ filii Area, et Johanan filius ejus acceperat filiam Mosollam filii Barachiæ :
- — For there were many in Judah sworn unto him, because he was the son in law of Shechaniah the son of Arah; and his son Johanan had taken the daughter of Meshullam the son of Berechiah.
- — Want velen in Juda hadden hem gezworen, omdat hij was een schoonzoon van Sechanja, den zoon van Arah; en zijn zoon Johanan had genomen de dochter van Mesullam, den zoon van Berechja.
- — Car plusieurs en Juda étaient liés à lui par serment, parce qu'il était gendre de Schecania, fils d'Arach, et que son fils Jochanan avait pris la fille de Meschullam, fils de Bérékia.
- Nehemiah 6:19

- — sed et laudabant eum coram me, et verba mea nuntiabant ei : et Tobias mittebat epistolas ut terreret me.
- — Also they reported his good deeds before me, and uttered my words to him. And Tobiah sent letters to put me in fear.
- — Ook verhaalden zij zijn goeddadigheden voor mijn aangezicht, en mijn woorden brachten zij uit tot hem. Tobia dan zond brieven, om mij vreesachtig te maken.
- — Ils disaient même du bien de lui en ma présence, et ils lui rapportaient mes paroles. Tobija envoyait des lettres pour m'effrayer.
