Mark chapter 3

Mark 3:1
CA  Jah galaiþ aftra in swnagogen, jah was jainar manna gaþaursana habands handu.
— καὶ εἰσῆλθεν πάλιν εἰς τὴν συναγωγήν. καὶ ἦν ἐκεῖ ἄνθρωπος ἐξηραμμένην ἔχων τὴν χεῖρα:
— And he entered again into the synagogue; and there was a man there which had a withered hand.
Mark 3:2
CA  jah witaidedun imma hailidediu sabbato daga, ei wrohidedeina ina.
— καὶ παρετήρουν αὐτὸν εἰ τοῖς σάββασιν θεραπεύσει αὐτόν, ἵνα κατηγορήσωσιν αὐτοῦ.
— And they watched him, whether he would heal him on the sabbath day; that they might accuse him.
Mark 3:3
CA  jah qaþ du þamma mann þamma gaþaursana habandin handu: urreis in midumai.
— καὶ λέγει τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ τῷ τὴν ξηρὰν χεῖρα ἔχοντι, ἔγειρε εἰς τὸ μέσον.
— And he saith unto the man which had the withered hand, Stand forth.
Mark 3:4
CA  jah qaþ du im: skuldu ist in sabbatim þiuþ taujan aiþþau unþiuþ taujan, saiwala nasjan aiþþau usqistjan? eis þahaidedun.
— καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν ἀγαθὸν ποιῆσαι ἢ κακοποιῆσαι, ψυχὴν σῶσαι ἢ ἀποκτεῖναι; οἱ δὲ ἐσιώπων.
— And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
Mark 3:5
CA  jah ussaihvands ins miþ moda, gaurs in daubiþos hairtins ize qaþ du þamma mann: ufrakei þo handu þeina! jah ufrakida, jah gastoþ aftra so handus is.
— καὶ περιβλεψάμενος αὐτοὺς μετ' ὀργῆς, συλλυπούμενος ἐπὶ τῇ πωρώσει τῆς καρδίας αὐτῶν, λέγει τῷ ἀνθρώπῳ, ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρα. καὶ ἐξέτεινεν, καὶ ἀπεκατεστάθη ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ.
— And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
Mark 3:6
CA  jah gaggandans þan Fareisaieis sunsaiw miþ þaim Herodianum garuni gatawidedun bi ina, ei imma usqemeina.
— καὶ ἐξελθόντες οἱ φαρισαῖοι εὐθὺς μετὰ τῶν ἡρῳδιανῶν συμβούλιον ἐδίδουν κατ' αὐτοῦ ὅπως αὐτὸν ἀπολέσωσιν.
— And the Pharisees went forth, and straightway took counsel with the Herodians against him, how they might destroy him.
Mark 3:7
CA  jah Iesus aflaiþ miþ siponjam seinaim du marein, jah filu manageins us Galeilaia laistidedun afar imma,
— καὶ ὁ ἰησοῦς μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ἀνεχώρησεν πρὸς τὴν θάλασσαν: καὶ πολὺ πλῆθος ἀπὸ τῆς γαλιλαίας [ἠκολούθησεν]: καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς ἰουδαίας
— But Jesus withdrew himself with his disciples to the sea: and a great multitude from Galilee followed him, and from Judaea,
Mark 3:8
CA  jah us Iudaia jah us Iairusaulwmim jah us Idumaia jah hindana Iaurdanaus; jah þai bi Twra jah Seidona, manageins filu, gahausjandans hvan filu is tawida, qemun at imma.
— καὶ ἀπὸ ἱεροσολύμων καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς ἰδουμαίας καὶ πέραν τοῦ ἰορδάνου καὶ περὶ τύρον καὶ σιδῶνα, πλῆθος πολύ, ἀκούοντες ὅσα ἐποίει ἦλθον πρὸς αὐτόν.
— And from Jerusalem, and from Idumaea, and from beyond Jordan; and they about Tyre and Sidon, a great multitude, when they had heard what great things he did, came unto him.
Mark 3:9
CA  jah qaþ þaim siponjam seinaim ei skip habaiþ wesi at imma in þizos manageins, ei ni þraiheina ina.
— καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ἵνα πλοιάριον προσκαρτερῇ αὐτῷ διὰ τὸν ὄχλον ἵνα μὴ θλίβωσιν αὐτόν:
— And he spake to his disciples, that a small ship should wait on him because of the multitude, lest they should throng him.
Mark 3:10
CA  managans auk gahailida, swaswe drusun ana ina ei imma attaitokeina, jah swa managai swe habaidedun wundufnjos
— πολλοὺς γὰρ ἐθεράπευσεν, ὥστε ἐπιπίπτειν αὐτῷ ἵνα αὐτοῦ ἅψωνται ὅσοι εἶχον μάστιγας.
— For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.
Mark 3:11
CA  jah ahmans unhrainjans, þaih þan ina gasehvun, drusun du imma jah hropidedun qiþandans þatei þu is sunus gudis.
— καὶ τὰ πνεύματα τὰ ἀκάθαρτα, ὅταν αὐτὸν ἐθεώρουν, προσέπιπτον αὐτῷ καὶ ἔκραζον λέγοντες ὅτι σὺ εἶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ.
— And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
Mark 3:12
CA  jah filu andbait ins ei ina ni gaswikunþidedeina.
— καὶ πολλὰ ἐπετίμα αὐτοῖς ἵνα μὴ αὐτὸν φανερὸν ποιήσωσιν.
— And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.
Mark 3:13
CA  jah ustaig in fairguni jah athaihait þanzei wilda is, jah galiþun du imma.
— καὶ ἀναβαίνει εἰς τὸ ὄρος καὶ προσκαλεῖται οὓς ἤθελεν αὐτός, καὶ ἀπῆλθον πρὸς αὐτόν.
— And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.
Mark 3:14
CA  jah gawaurhta twalif du wisan miþ sis, jah ei insandidedi ins merjan
— καὶ ἐποίησεν δώδεκα, [οὓς καὶ ἀποστόλους ὠνόμασεν,] ἵνα ὦσιν μετ' αὐτοῦ καὶ ἵνα ἀποστέλλῃ αὐτοὺς κηρύσσειν
— And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
Mark 3:15
CA  jah haban waldufni du hailjan sauhtins jah uswairpan unhulþons.
— καὶ ἔχειν ἐξουσίαν ἐκβάλλειν τὰ δαιμόνια:
— And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:
Mark 3:16
CA  jah gasatida Seimona namo Paitrus;
— [καὶ ἐποίησεν τοὺς δώδεκα,] καὶ ἐπέθηκεν ὄνομα τῷ σίμωνι πέτρον,
— And Simon he surnamed Peter;
Mark 3:17
CA  jah Iakobau þamma Zaibaidaiaus jah Iohanne broþr Iakobaus jah gasatida im namna Bauanairgais, þatei ist: sunjus þeihvons;
— καὶ ἰάκωβον τὸν τοῦ ζεβεδαίου καὶ ἰωάννην τὸν ἀδελφὸν τοῦ ἰακώβου, καὶ ἐπέθηκεν αὐτοῖς ὀνόμα[τα] βοανηργές, ὅ ἐστιν υἱοὶ βροντῆς:
— And James the son of Zebedee, and John the brother of James; and he surnamed them Boanerges, which is, The sons of thunder:
Mark 3:18
CA  jah Andraian jah Filippu jah Barþaulaumaiu jah Matþaiu jah Þoman jah Iakobu þana Alfaiaus jah Þaddaiu jah Seimona þana Kananeiten
— καὶ ἀνδρέαν καὶ φίλιππον καὶ βαρθολομαῖον καὶ μαθθαῖον καὶ θωμᾶν καὶ ἰάκωβον τὸν τοῦ ἁλφαίου καὶ θαδδαῖον καὶ σίμωνα τὸν καναναῖον
— And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Canaanite,
Mark 3:19
CA  jah Iudan Iskarioten, saei jah galewida ina.
— καὶ ἰούδαν ἰσκαριώθ, ὃς καὶ παρέδωκεν αὐτόν.
— And Judas Iscariot, which also betrayed him: and they went into an house.
Mark 3:20
CA  jah atiddjedun in gard, jah gaïddja sik <aftra> managei, swaswe ni mahtedun nih hlaif matjan.
— καὶ ἔρχεται εἰς οἶκον: καὶ συνέρχεται πάλιν [ὁ] ὄχλος, ὥστε μὴ δύνασθαι αὐτοὺς μηδὲ ἄρτον φαγεῖν.
— And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
Mark 3:21
CA  jah hausjandans fram imma bokarjos jah anþarai usiddjedun gahaban ina; qeþun auk þatei usgaisiþs ist.
— καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ παρ' αὐτοῦ ἐξῆλθον κρατῆσαι αὐτόν, ἔλεγον γὰρ ὅτι ἐξέστη.
— And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.
Mark 3:22
CA  jah bokarjos þai af Iairusaulwmai qimandans qeþun þatei Baiailzaibul habaiþ, jah þatei in þamma reikistin unhulþono uswairpiþ þaim unhulþom.
— καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς οἱ ἀπὸ ἱεροσολύμων καταβάντες ἔλεγον ὅτι βεελζεβοὺλ ἔχει, καὶ ὅτι ἐν τῷ ἄρχοντι τῶν δαιμονίων ἐκβάλλει τὰ δαιμόνια.
— And the scribes which came down from Jerusalem said, He hath Beelzebub, and by the prince of the devils casteth he out devils.
Mark 3:23
CA  jah athaitands ins in gajukom qaþ du im: hvaiwa mag Satanas Satanan uswairpan?
— καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος αὐτοὺς ἐν παραβολαῖς ἔλεγεν αὐτοῖς, πῶς δύναται σατανᾶς σατανᾶν ἐκβάλλειν;
— And he called them unto him, and said unto them in parables, How can Satan cast out Satan?
Mark 3:24
CA  jah jabai þiudangardi wiþra sik gadailjada, ni mag standan so þiudangardi jaina.
— καὶ ἐὰν βασιλεία ἐφ' ἑαυτὴν μερισθῇ, οὐ δύναται σταθῆναι ἡ βασιλεία ἐκείνη:
— And if a kingdom be divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
Mark 3:25
CA  jah jabai gards wiþra sik gadailjada, ni mag standan sa gards jains.
— καὶ ἐὰν οἰκία ἐφ' ἑαυτὴν μερισθῇ, οὐ δυνήσεται ἡ οἰκία ἐκείνη σταθῆναι.
— And if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.
Mark 3:26
CA  jah jabai Satana usstoþ ana sik silban jah gadailiþs warþ, ni mag gastandan, ak andi habaiþ.
— καὶ εἰ ὁ σατανᾶς ἀνέστη ἐφ' ἑαυτὸν καὶ ἐμερίσθη, οὐ δύναται στῆναι ἀλλὰ τέλος ἔχει.
— And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mark 3:27
CA  ni manna mag kasa swinþis galeiþands in gard is wilwan, niba faurþis þana swinþan gabindiþ; jah <þan> þana gard is diswilwai.
— ἀλλ' οὐ δύναται οὐδεὶς εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἰσχυροῦ εἰσελθὼν τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ διαρπάσαι ἐὰν μὴ πρῶτον τὸν ἰσχυρὸν δήσῃ, καὶ τότε τὴν οἰκίαν αὐτοῦ διαρπάσει.
— No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
Mark 3:28
CA  amen, qiþa izwis, þatei allata afletada þata frawaurhte sunum manne, jah naiteinos swa managos swaswe wajamerjand;
— ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι πάντα ἀφεθήσεται τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνθρώπων, τὰ ἁμαρτήματα καὶ αἱ βλασφημίαι ὅσα ἐὰν βλασφημήσωσιν:
— Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
Mark 3:29
CA  aþþan saei wajamereiþ ahman weihana ni habaiþ fralet aiw, ak skula ist aiweinaizos frawaurhtais.
— ὃς δ' ἂν βλασφημήσῃ εἰς τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον οὐκ ἔχει ἄφεσιν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, ἀλλὰ ἔνοχός ἐστιν αἰωνίου ἁμαρτήματος –
— But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
Mark 3:30
CA  unte qeþun: ahman unhrainjana habaiþ.
— ὅτι ἔλεγον, πνεῦμα ἀκάθαρτον ἔχει.
— Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
Mark 3:31
CA  jah qemun þan aiþei is jah broþrjus is jah uta standandona insandidedun du imma, haitandona ina.
— καὶ ἔρχεται ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔξω στήκοντες ἀπέστειλαν πρὸς αὐτὸν καλοῦντες αὐτόν.
— There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.
Mark 3:32
CA  jah setun bi ina managei; qeþun þan du imma: sai, aiþei þeina jah broþrjus þeinai jah swistrjus þeinos uta sokjand þuk.
— καὶ ἐκάθητο περὶ αὐτὸν ὄχλος, καὶ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ, ἰδοὺ ἡ μήτηρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου [καὶ αἱ ἀδελφαι σου] ἔξω ζητοῦσίν σε.
— And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee.
Mark 3:33
CA  jah andhof im qiþands: hvo ist so aiþei meina aiþþau þai broþrjus meinai?
— καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς αὐτοῖς λέγει, τίς ἐστιν ἡ μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί [μου];
— And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?
Mark 3:34
CA  jah bisaihvands bisunjane þans bi sik sitandans qaþ: sai, aiþei meina jah þai broþrjus meinai.
— καὶ περιβλεψάμενος τοὺς περὶ αὐτὸν κύκλῳ καθημένους λέγει, ἴδε ἡ μήτηρ μου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί μου.
— And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!
Mark 3:35
CA  saei allis waurkeiþ wiljan gudis, sa jah broþar meins jah swistar jah aiþei ist.
— ὃς [γὰρ] ἂν ποιήσῃ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ, οὗτος ἀδελφός μου καὶ ἀδελφὴ καὶ μήτηρ ἐστίν.
— For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.
