Luke chapter 15

Luke 15:1: ^CA Wesunuþ~þan imma nehvjandans sik allai motarjos jah frawaurhtai hausjan imma.; — ἦσαν δὲ αὐτῷ ἐγγίζοντες πάντες οἱ τελῶναι καὶ οἱ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἀκούειν αὐτοῦ.; — Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
Luke 15:2: ^CA jah birodidedun Fareisaieis jah bokarjos, qiþandans þatei sa frawaurhtans andnimiþ jah miþmatjiþ im.; — καὶ διεγόγγυζον οἵ τε φαρισαῖοι καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς λέγοντες ὅτι οὗτος ἁμαρτωλοὺς προσδέχεται καὶ συνεσθίει αὐτοῖς.; — And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
Luke 15:3: ^CA qaþ þan du im þo gajukon qiþands:; — εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτοὺς τὴν παραβολὴν ταύτην λέγων,; — And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
Luke 15:4: ^CA hvas manna izwara aigands taihuntehund lambe jah fraliusands ainamma þize, niu bileiþiþ þo niuntehund jah niun ana auþidai jah gaggiþ afar þamma fralusanin, unte bigitiþ þata?; — τίς ἄνθρωπος ἐξ ὑμῶν ἔχων ἑκατὸν πρόβατα καὶ ἀπολέσας ἐξ αὐτῶν ἓν οὐ καταλείπει τὰ ἐνενήκοντα ἐννέα ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ καὶ πορεύεται ἐπὶ τὸ ἀπολωλὸς ἕως εὕρῃ αὐτό;; — What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
Luke 15:5: ^CA Jah bigitands uslagjiþ ana amsans seinans faginonds,; — καὶ εὑρὼν ἐπιτίθησιν ἐπὶ τοὺς ὤμους αὐτοῦ χαίρων,; — And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
Luke 15:6: ^CA jah qimands in garda galaþoþ frijonds jah garaznans qiþands du im: faginoþ miþ mis þammei bigat lamb mein þata fralusano.; — καὶ ἐλθὼν εἰς τὸν οἶκον συγκαλεῖ τοὺς φίλους καὶ τοὺς γείτονας λέγων αὐτοῖς, συγχάρητέ μοι, ὅτι εὗρον τὸ πρόβατόν μου τὸ ἀπολωλός.; — And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
Luke 15:7: ^CA qiþa izwis þatei swa faheds wairþiþ in himina in ainis frawaurhtis idreigondins þau in niuntehundis jah niune garaihtaize þaiei ni þaurbun idreigos.; — λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι οὕτως χαρὰ ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ ἔσται ἐπὶ ἑνὶ ἁμαρτωλῷ μετανοοῦντι ἢ ἐπὶ ἐνενήκοντα ἐννέα δικαίοις οἵτινες οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν μετανοίας.; — I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
Luke 15:8: ^CA aiþþau suma qino drakmans habandei taihun, jabai fraliusiþ drakmin ainamma, niu tandeiþ lukarn jah usbaugeiþ razn jah sokeiþ glaggwaba, unte bigitiþ?; — ἢ τίς γυνὴ δραχμὰς ἔχουσα δέκα, ἐὰν ἀπολέσῃ δραχμὴν μίαν, οὐχὶ ἅπτει λύχνον καὶ σαροῖ τὴν οἰκίαν καὶ ζητεῖ ἐπιμελῶς ἕως οὗ εὕρῃ;; — Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
Luke 15:9: ^CA jah bigitandei gahaitiþ frijondjos jah garaznons qiþandei: faginoþ miþ mis, unte bigat drakman þammei fralaus.; — καὶ εὑροῦσα συγκαλεῖ τὰς φίλας καὶ γείτονας λέγουσα, συγχάρητέ μοι, ὅτι εὗρον τὴν δραχμὴν ἣν ἀπώλεσα.; — And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
Luke 15:10: ^CA swa qiþa izwis, faheds wairþiþ in andwairþja aggele gudis in ainis idreigondins frawaurhtis.; — οὕτως, λέγω ὑμῖν, γίνεται χαρὰ ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀγγέλων τοῦ θεοῦ ἐπὶ ἑνὶ ἁμαρτωλῷ μετανοοῦντι.; — Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
Luke 15:11: ^CA qaþuþ~þan: manne sums aihta twans sununs.; — εἶπεν δέ, ἄνθρωπός τις εἶχεν δύο υἱούς.; — And he said, A certain man had two sons:
Luke 15:12: ^CA jah qaþ sa juhiza ize du attin: atta, gif mis, sei undrinnai mik dail aiginis; jah disdailida im swes sein.; — καὶ εἶπεν ὁ νεώτερος αὐτῶν τῷ πατρί, πάτερ, δός μοι τὸ ἐπιβάλλον μέρος τῆς οὐσίας. ὁ δὲ διεῖλεν αὐτοῖς τὸν βίον.; — And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
Luke 15:13: ^CA jah afar ni managans dagans brahta samana allata sa juhiza sunus jah aflaiþ in land fairra wisando jah jainar distahida þata swes seinata libands usstiuriba.; — καὶ μετ' οὐ πολλὰς ἡμέρας συναγαγὼν πάντα ὁ νεώτερος υἱὸς ἀπεδήμησεν εἰς χώραν μακράν, καὶ ἐκεῖ διεσκόρπισεν τὴν οὐσίαν αὐτοῦ ζῶν ἀσώτως.; — And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
Luke 15:14: ^CA biþe þan frawas allamma, warþ huhrus abrs and gawi jainata, jah is dugann alaþarba wairþan.; — δαπανήσαντος δὲ αὐτοῦ πάντα ἐγένετο λιμὸς ἰσχυρὰ κατὰ τὴν χώραν ἐκείνην, καὶ αὐτὸς ἤρξατο ὑστερεῖσθαι.; — And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
Luke 15:15: ^CA jah gaggands gahaftida sik sumamma baurgjane jainis gaujis, jah insandida ina haiþjos seinaizos haldan sweina.; — καὶ πορευθεὶς ἐκολλήθη ἑνὶ τῶν πολιτῶν τῆς χώρας ἐκείνης, καὶ ἔπεμψεν αὐτὸν εἰς τοὺς ἀγροὺς αὐτοῦ βόσκειν χοίρους:; — And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
Luke 15:16: ^CA jah gairnida sad itan haurne, þoei matidedun sweina, jah manna imma ni gaf.; — καὶ ἐπεθύμει χορτασθῆναι ἐκ τῶν κερατίων ὧν ἤσθιον οἱ χοῖροι, καὶ οὐδεὶς ἐδίδου αὐτῷ.; — And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
Luke 15:17: ^CA qimands þan in sis qaþ: hvan filu asnje attins meinis ufarassau haband hlaibe, iþ ik huhrau fraqistna.; — εἰς ἑαυτὸν δὲ ἐλθὼν ἔφη, πόσοι μίσθιοι τοῦ πατρός μου περισσεύονται ἄρτων, ἐγὼ δὲ λιμῷ ὧδε ἀπόλλυμαι.; — And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
Luke 15:18: ^CA usstandands gagga du attin meinamma jah qiþa du imma: atta, frawaurhta mis in himin jah in andwairþja þeinamma;; — ἀναστὰς πορεύσομαι πρὸς τὸν πατέρα μου καὶ ἐρῶ αὐτῷ, πάτερ, ἥμαρτον εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἐνώπιόν σου,; — I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
Luke 15:19: ^CA ju þanaseiþs ni im wairþs ei haitaidau sunus þeins; gatawei mik swe ainana asnje þeinaize.; — οὐκέτι εἰμὶ ἄξιος κληθῆναι υἱός σου: ποίησόν με ὡς ἕνα τῶν μισθίων σου.; — And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
Luke 15:20: ^CA jah usstandands qam at attin seinamma. nauhþanuh þan fairra wisandan gasahv ina atta is jah infeinoda jah þragjands draus ana hals is jah kukida imma.; — καὶ ἀναστὰς ἦλθεν πρὸς τὸν πατέρα ἑαυτοῦ. ἔτι δὲ αὐτοῦ μακρὰν ἀπέχοντος εἶδεν αὐτὸν ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐσπλαγχνίσθη καὶ δραμὼν ἐπέπεσεν ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ καὶ κατεφίλησεν αὐτόν.; — And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
Luke 15:21: ^CA jah qaþ imma sa sunus: atta, frawaurhta in himin jah in andwairþja þeinamma, ju þanaseiþs ni im wairþs ei haitaidau sunus þeins.; — εἶπεν δὲ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτῷ, πάτερ, ἥμαρτον εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἐνώπιόν σου, οὐκέτι εἰμὶ ἄξιος κληθῆναι υἱός σου.; — And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
Luke 15:22: ^CA qaþ þan sa atta du skalkam seinaim: sprauto bringiþ wastja þo frumiston jah gawasjiþ ina jah gibiþ figgragulþ in handu is jah gaskohi ana fotuns is;; — εἶπεν δὲ ὁ πατὴρ πρὸς τοὺς δούλους αὐτοῦ, ταχὺ ἐξενέγκατε στολὴν τὴν πρώτην καὶ ἐνδύσατε αὐτόν, καὶ δότε δακτύλιον εἰς τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ καὶ ὑποδήματα εἰς τοὺς πόδας,; — But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
Luke 15:23: ^CA jah bringandans stiur þana alidan ufsneiþiþ, jah matjandans wisam waila;; — καὶ φέρετε τὸν μόσχον τὸν σιτευτόν, θύσατε καὶ φαγόντες εὐφρανθῶμεν,; — And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
Luke 15:24: ^CA unte sa sunus meins dauþs was jah gaqiunoda, jah fralusans was jah bigitans warþ; jah dugunnun wisan.; — ὅτι οὗτος ὁ υἱός μου νεκρὸς ἦν καὶ ἀνέζησεν, ἦν ἀπολωλὼς καὶ εὑρέθη. καὶ ἤρξαντο εὐφραίνεσθαι.; — For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
Luke 15:25: ^CA wasuþ~þan sunus is sa alþiza ana akra; jah qimands atiddja nehv razn jah gahausida saggwins jah laikins.; — ἦν δὲ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ὁ πρεσβύτερος ἐν ἀγρῷ: καὶ ὡς ἐρχόμενος ἤγγισεν τῇ οἰκίᾳ, ἤκουσεν συμφωνίας καὶ χορῶν,; — Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
Luke 15:26: ^CA jah athaitands sumana magiwe frahuh hva wesi þata.; — καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος ἕνα τῶν παίδων ἐπυνθάνετο τί ἂν εἴη ταῦτα.; — And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
Luke 15:27: ^CA þaruh is qaþ du imma þatei broþar þeins qam, jah ufsnaiþ atta þeins stiur þana alidan, unte hailana ina andnam.; — ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὅτι ὁ ἀδελφός σου ἥκει, καὶ ἔθυσεν ὁ πατήρ σου τὸν μόσχον τὸν σιτευτόν, ὅτι ὑγιαίνοντα αὐτὸν ἀπέλαβεν.; — And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
Luke 15:28: ^CA þanuh modags warþ jah ni wilda inngaggan, iþ atta is usgaggands ut bad ina.; — ὠργίσθη δὲ καὶ οὐκ ἤθελεν εἰσελθεῖν. ὁ δὲ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ ἐξελθὼν παρεκάλει αὐτόν.; — And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
Luke 15:29: ^CA þaruh is andhafjands qaþ du attin: sai, swa filu jere skalkinoda þus jah ni hvanhun anabusn þeina ufariddja, jah mis ni aiw atgaft gaitein, ei miþ frijondam meinaim biwesjau;; — ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ, ἰδοὺ τοσαῦτα ἔτη δουλεύω σοι καὶ οὐδέποτε ἐντολήν σου παρῆλθον, καὶ ἐμοὶ οὐδέποτε ἔδωκας ἔριφον ἵνα μετὰ τῶν φίλων μου εὐφρανθῶ:; — And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
Luke 15:30: ^CA iþ þan sa sunus þeins, saei fret þein swes miþ kalkjom, qam, ufsnaist imma stiur þana alidan.; — ὅτε δὲ ὁ υἱός σου οὗτος ὁ καταφαγών σου τὸν βίον μετὰ πορνῶν ἦλθεν, ἔθυσας αὐτῷ τὸν σιτευτὸν μόσχον.; — But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
Luke 15:31: ^CA þaruh qaþ du imma: barnilo, þu sinteino miþ mis [wast jah] is, jah all þata mein þein ist;; — ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῷ, τέκνον, σὺ πάντοτε μετ' ἐμοῦ εἶ, καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐμὰ σά ἐστιν:; — And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
Luke 15:32: ^CA waila wisan jah faginon skuld was, unte broþar þeins dauþs was jah gaqiunoda, jah fralusans jah bigitans warþ.; — εὐφρανθῆναι δὲ καὶ χαρῆναι ἔδει, ὅτι ὁ ἀδελφός σου οὗτος νεκρὸς ἦν καὶ ἔζησεν, καὶ ἀπολωλὼς καὶ εὑρέθη.; — It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
