John chapter 6

John 6:1
CA  Afar þata galaiþ Iesus ufar marein þo Galeilaie jah Tibairiade.
— μετὰ ταῦτα ἀπῆλθεν ὁ ἰησοῦς πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς γαλιλαίας τῆς τιβεριάδος.
— After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is the sea of Tiberias.
John 6:2

— ἠκολούθει δὲ αὐτῷ ὄχλος πολύς, ὅτι ἐθεώρουν τὰ σημεῖα ἃ ἐποίει ἐπὶ τῶν ἀσθενούντων.
— And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.
John 6:3

— ἀνῆλθεν δὲ εἰς τὸ ὄρος ἰησοῦς, καὶ ἐκεῖ ἐκάθητο μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ.
— And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
John 6:4
CA  wasuh þan nehva pasxa, so dulþs Iudaie.
— ἦν δὲ ἐγγὺς τὸ πάσχα, ἡ ἑορτὴ τῶν ἰουδαίων.
— And the passover, a feast of the Jews, was nigh.
John 6:5
CA  þaruh ushof augona Iesus jah gaumida þammei manageins filu iddja du imma, qaþuh du Filippau: hvaþro bugjam hlaibans, ei matjaina þai?
— ἐπάρας οὖν τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ θεασάμενος ὅτι πολὺς ὄχλος ἔρχεται πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγει πρὸς φίλιππον, πόθεν ἀγοράσωμεν ἄρτους ἵνα φάγωσιν οὗτοι;
— When Jesus then lifted up his eyes, and saw a great company come unto him, he saith unto Philip, Whence shall we buy bread, that these may eat?
John 6:6

— τοῦτο δὲ ἔλεγεν πειράζων αὐτόν, αὐτὸς γὰρ ᾔδει τί ἔμελλεν ποιεῖν.
— And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.
John 6:7

— ἀπεκρίθη αὐτῷ [ὁ] φίλιππος, διακοσίων δηναρίων ἄρτοι οὐκ ἀρκοῦσιν αὐτοῖς ἵνα ἕκαστος βραχύ [τι] λάβῃ.
— Philip answered him, Two hundred pennyworth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.
John 6:8

— λέγει αὐτῷ εἷς ἐκ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ, ἀνδρέας ὁ ἀδελφὸς σίμωνος πέτρου,
— One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him,
John 6:9
CA  ist magula ains her, saei habaiþ ·e· hlaibans barizeinans jah ·b· fiskans; akei þata hva ist du swa managaim?
— ἔστιν παιδάριον ὧδε ὃς ἔχει πέντε ἄρτους κριθίνους καὶ δύο ὀψάρια: ἀλλὰ ταῦτα τί ἐστιν εἰς τοσούτους;
— There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?
John 6:10
CA   Iesus qaþ: waurkeiþ þans mans anakumbjan. wasuh þan hawi manag ana þamma stada. þaruh anakumbidedun wairos raþjon swaswe fimf þusundjos.
— εἶπεν ὁ ἰησοῦς, ποιήσατε τοὺς ἀνθρώπους ἀναπεσεῖν. ἦν δὲ χόρτος πολὺς ἐν τῷ τόπῳ. ἀνέπεσαν οὖν οἱ ἄνδρες τὸν ἀριθμὸν ὡς πεντακισχίλιοι.
— And Jesus said, Make the men sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
John 6:11

— ἔλαβεν οὖν τοὺς ἄρτους ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ εὐχαριστήσας διέδωκεν τοῖς ἀνακειμένοις, ὁμοίως καὶ ἐκ τῶν ὀψαρίων ὅσον ἤθελον.
— And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.
John 6:12
CA  þanuh, biþe sadai waurþun, qaþ du siponjam seinaim: galisiþ þos aflifnandeins drauhsnos, þei waihtai ni fraqistnai.
— ὡς δὲ ἐνεπλήσθησαν λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ, συναγάγετε τὰ περισσεύσαντα κλάσματα, ἵνα μή τι ἀπόληται.
— When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.
John 6:13
CA  þanuh galesun jah gafullidedun ·ib· tainjons gabruko us fimf hlaibam þaim barizeinam, þatei aflifnoda þaim matjandam.
— συνήγαγον οὖν, καὶ ἐγέμισαν δώδεκα κοφίνους κλασμάτων ἐκ τῶν πέντε ἄρτων τῶν κριθίνων ἃ ἐπερίσσευσαν τοῖς βεβρωκόσιν.
— Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.
John 6:14
CA  þaruh þai mans gasaihvandans þoei gatawida taikn Iesus, qeþun þatei sa ist bi sunjai praufetus sa qimanda in þo manaseþ.
— οἱ οὖν ἄνθρωποι ἰδόντες ὃ ἐποίησεν σημεῖον ἔλεγον ὅτι οὗτός ἐστιν ἀληθῶς ὁ προφήτης ὁ ἐρχόμενος εἰς τὸν κόσμον.
— Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
John 6:15
CA   Iesus kunnands þatei munaidedun usgaggan jah wilwan <ina> ei tawidedeina ina du þiudana, afiddja aftra in fairguni is ains.
— ἰησοῦς οὖν γνοὺς ὅτι μέλλουσιν ἔρχεσθαι καὶ ἁρπάζειν αὐτὸν ἵνα ποιήσωσιν βασιλέα ἀνεχώρησεν πάλιν εἰς τὸ ὄρος αὐτὸς μόνος.
— When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.
John 6:16
CA   swe seiþu warþ, atiddjedun siponjos is ana marein,
— ὡς δὲ ὀψία ἐγένετο κατέβησαν οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν,
— And when even was now come, his disciples went down unto the sea,
John 6:17
CA  jah usstigun in skip, iddjedunuh ufar marein in Kafarnaum. jah riqis juþan warþ jah ni atiddja nauhþan du im Iesus.
— καὶ ἐμβάντες εἰς πλοῖον ἤρχοντο πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης εἰς καφαρναούμ. καὶ σκοτία ἤδη ἐγεγόνει καὶ οὔπω ἐληλύθει πρὸς αὐτοὺς ὁ ἰησοῦς,
— And entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum. And it was now dark, and Jesus was not come to them.
John 6:18

— ἥ τε θάλασσα ἀνέμου μεγάλου πνέοντος διεγείρετο.
— And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew.
John 6:19
CA  þaruh farjandans swe spaurde ·k· jah ·e· aiþþau ·l· gasaihvand Iesu gaggandan ana marein jah nehva skipa qimandan jah ohtedun sis.
— ἐληλακότες οὖν ὡς σταδίους εἴκοσι πέντε ἢ τριάκοντα θεωροῦσιν τὸν ἰησοῦν περιπατοῦντα ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ ἐγγὺς τοῦ πλοίου γινόμενον, καὶ ἐφοβήθησαν.
— So when they had rowed about five and twenty or thirty furlongs, they see Jesus walking on the sea, and drawing nigh unto the ship: and they were afraid.
John 6:20
CA  þaruh is qaþ <im>: ik im, ni ogeiþ izwis.
— ὁ δὲ λέγει αὐτοῖς, ἐγώ εἰμι, μὴ φοβεῖσθε.
— But he saith unto them, It is I; be not afraid.
John 6:21
CA  þaruh wildedun ina niman in skip, jah sunsaiw þata skip warþ ana airþai ana þoei eis iddjedun.
— ἤθελον οὖν λαβεῖν αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ πλοῖον, καὶ εὐθέως ἐγένετο τὸ πλοῖον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς εἰς ἣν ὑπῆγον.
— Then they willingly received him into the ship: and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went.
John 6:22
CA  iftumin daga managei sei stoþ hindar marein, sehvun þatei skip anþar ni was jainar alja ain, jah þatei miþ~ni~qam siponjam seinaim Iesus in þata skip, ak ainai siponjos is galiþun.
— τῇ ἐπαύριον ὁ ὄχλος ὁ ἑστηκὼς πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης εἶδον ὅτι πλοιάριον ἄλλο οὐκ ἦν ἐκεῖ εἰ μὴ ἕν, καὶ ὅτι οὐ συνεισῆλθεν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ὁ ἰησοῦς εἰς τὸ πλοῖον ἀλλὰ μόνοι οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἀπῆλθον:
— The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone;
John 6:23
CA  anþara þan skipa qemun us Tibairiadau nehva þamma stada, þarei matidedun hlaif, ana þammei awiliudoda frauja.
— ἄλλα ἦλθεν πλοιά[ρια] ἐκ τιβεριάδος ἐγγὺς τοῦ τόπου ὅπου ἔφαγον τὸν ἄρτον εὐχαριστήσαντος τοῦ κυρίου.
— (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:)
John 6:24
CA  þaruh þan gasahv managei þatei Iesus nist jainar nih siponjos is, gastigun in skipa jah qemun in Kafarnaum sokjandans Iesu.
— ὅτε οὖν εἶδεν ὁ ὄχλος ὅτι ἰησοῦς οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκεῖ οὐδὲ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ, ἐνέβησαν αὐτοὶ εἰς τὰ πλοιάρια καὶ ἦλθον εἰς καφαρναοὺμ ζητοῦντες τὸν ἰησοῦν.
— When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.
John 6:25
CA  jah bigetun ina hindar marein qeþunuh du imma: rabbei, hvan her qamt?
— καὶ εὑρόντες αὐτὸν πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης εἶπον αὐτῷ, ῥαββί, πότε ὧδε γέγονας;
— And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?
John 6:26
CA  andhof im Iesus jah qaþ: amen amen qiþa izwis, sokeiþ mik, ni þatei sehvuþ taiknins jah fauratanja, ak þatei matideduþ þize hlaibe jah sadai waurþuþ.
— ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν, ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ζητεῖτέ με οὐχ ὅτι εἴδετε σημεῖα ἀλλ' ὅτι ἐφάγετε ἐκ τῶν ἄρτων καὶ ἐχορτάσθητε.
— Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.
John 6:27
CA  waurkjaiþ ni þana mat þana fralusanan, ak mat þana wisandan du libainai aiweinon, þanei sunus mans gibiþ izwis; þanuh auk atta gasiglida guþ.
— ἐργάζεσθε μὴ τὴν βρῶσιν τὴν ἀπολλυμένην ἀλλὰ τὴν βρῶσιν τὴν μένουσαν εἰς ζωὴν αἰώνιον, ἣν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ὑμῖν δώσει: τοῦτον γὰρ ὁ πατὴρ ἐσφράγισεν ὁ θεός.
— Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
John 6:28
CA  þaruh qeþun du imma: hva taujaima, ei waurkjaima waurstwa gudis?
— εἶπον οὖν πρὸς αὐτόν, τί ποιῶμεν ἵνα ἐργαζώμεθα τὰ ἔργα τοῦ θεοῦ;
— Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
John 6:29

— ἀπεκρίθη [ὁ] ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, τοῦτό ἐστιν τὸ ἔργον τοῦ θεοῦ, ἵνα πιστεύητε εἰς ὃν ἀπέστειλεν ἐκεῖνος.
— Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
John 6:30
CA  qeþun du imma: aþþan hva taujis þu taikne, ei saihvaima jah galaubjaima þus? hva waurkeis?
— εἶπον οὖν αὐτῷ, τί οὖν ποιεῖς σὺ σημεῖον, ἵνα ἴδωμεν καὶ πιστεύσωμέν σοι; τί ἐργάζῃ;
— They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
John 6:31

— οἱ πατέρες ἡμῶν τὸ μάννα ἔφαγον ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ, καθώς ἐστιν γεγραμμένον, ἄρτον ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς φαγεῖν.
— Our fathers did eat manna in the desert; as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
John 6:32
CA  þaruh qaþ im Iesus: amen amen qiþa izwis, ni Moses gaf izwis hlaif us himina, ak atta meins gaf izwis hlaif us himina þana sunjeinan.
— εἶπεν οὖν αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς, ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐ μωϋσῆς δέδωκεν ὑμῖν τὸν ἄρτον ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, ἀλλ' ὁ πατήρ μου δίδωσιν ὑμῖν τὸν ἄρτον ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ τὸν ἀληθινόν:
— Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
John 6:33
CA  sa auk hlaifs gudis ist, saei atstaig us himina jah gaf libain þizai manasedai.
— ὁ γὰρ ἄρτος τοῦ θεοῦ ἐστιν ὁ καταβαίνων ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ζωὴν διδοὺς τῷ κόσμῳ.
— For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
John 6:34

— εἶπον οὖν πρὸς αὐτόν, κύριε, πάντοτε δὸς ἡμῖν τὸν ἄρτον τοῦτον.
— Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
John 6:35
CA  jah qaþ du im Iesus: ik im sa hlaifs libainais; þana gaggandan du mis ni huggreiþ jah þana galaubjandan du mis ni þaurseiþ hvanhun.
— εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς, ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ἄρτος τῆς ζωῆς: ὁ ἐρχόμενος πρός ἐμὲ οὐ μὴ πεινάσῃ, καὶ ὁ πιστεύων εἰς ἐμὲ οὐ μὴ διψήσει πώποτε.
— And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:36

— ἀλλ' εἶπον ὑμῖν ὅτι καὶ ἑωράκατέ [με] καὶ οὐ πιστεύετε.
— But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
John 6:37
CA  all þatei gaf mis atta, du mis qimiþ, jah þana gaggandan du mis ni uswairpa ut;
— πᾶν ὃ δίδωσίν μοι ὁ πατὴρ πρὸς ἐμὲ ἥξει, καὶ τὸν ἐρχόμενον πρὸς ἐμὲ οὐ μὴ ἐκβάλω ἔξω,
— All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
John 6:38
CA  unte atstaig us himina, nih þeei taujau wiljan meinana, ak wiljan þis sandjandins mik.
— ὅτι καταβέβηκα ἀπὸ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ οὐχ ἵνα ποιῶ τὸ θέλημα τὸ ἐμὸν ἀλλὰ τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πέμψαντός με:
— For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
John 6:39

— τοῦτο δέ ἐστιν τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πέμψαντός με, ἵνα πᾶν ὃ δέδωκέν μοι μὴ ἀπολέσω ἐξ αὐτοῦ ἀλλὰ ἀναστήσω αὐτὸ [ἐν] τῇ ἐσχάτῃ ἡμέρᾳ.
— And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
John 6:40
CA  þatuh þan ist wilja þis sandjandins mik, ei hvazuh saei saihviþ þana sunu jah galaubeiþ du imma, aigi libain aiweinon, jah urraisja ina ik in spedistin daga.
— τοῦτο γάρ ἐστιν τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πατρός μου, ἵνα πᾶς ὁ θεωρῶν τὸν υἱὸν καὶ πιστεύων εἰς αὐτὸν ἔχῃ ζωὴν αἰώνιον, καὶ ἀναστήσω αὐτὸν ἐγὼ [ἐν] τῇ ἐσχάτῃ ἡμέρᾳ.
— And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:41
CA  birodidedun þan Iudaieis bi ina, unte qaþ: ik im hlaifs sa atsteigands us himina,
— ἐγόγγυζον οὖν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι περὶ αὐτοῦ ὅτι εἶπεν, ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ἄρτος ὁ καταβὰς ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ,
— The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven.
John 6:42
CA  jah qeþun: niu sa ist Iesus sa sunus Iosefis, þizei weis kunþedum attan jah aiþein? hvaiwa nu qiþiþ sa þatei us himina atstaig?
— καὶ ἔλεγον, οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ἰησοῦς ὁ υἱὸς ἰωσήφ, οὗ ἡμεῖς οἴδαμεν τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα; πῶς νῦν λέγει ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καταβέβηκα;
— And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
John 6:43
CA  andhof þan Iesus jah qaþ du im: ni birodeiþ miþ izwis misso.
— ἀπεκρίθη ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, μὴ γογγύζετε μετ' ἀλλήλων.
— Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Murmur not among yourselves.
John 6:44
CA  ni manna mag qiman at mis, nibai atta saei sandida mik atþinsiþ ina, jah ik urraisja ina in þamma spedistin daga.
— οὐδεὶς δύναται ἐλθεῖν πρός με ἐὰν μὴ ὁ πατὴρ ὁ πέμψας με ἑλκύσῃ αὐτόν, κἀγὼ ἀναστήσω αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἐσχάτῃ ἡμέρᾳ.
— No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
John 6:45
CA  ist gameliþ ana praufetum: jah wairþand allai laisidai gudis. hvazuh nu sa gahausjands at attin jah ganam gaggiþ du mis.
— ἔστιν γεγραμμένον ἐν τοῖς προφήταις, καὶ ἔσονται πάντες διδακτοὶ θεοῦ: πᾶς ὁ ἀκούσας παρὰ τοῦ πατρὸς καὶ μαθὼν ἔρχεται πρὸς ἐμέ.
— It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.
John 6:46
CA  ni þatei attan sehvi hvas, nibai saei was fram attin, sa sahv attan.
— οὐχ ὅτι τὸν πατέρα ἑώρακέν τις εἰ μὴ ὁ ὢν παρὰ τοῦ θεοῦ, οὗτος ἑώρακεν τὸν πατέρα.
— Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father.
John 6:47
CA  amen amen qiþa izwis: saei galaubeiþ du mis aih libain aiweinon.
— ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ὁ πιστεύων ἔχει ζωὴν αἰώνιον.
— Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.
John 6:48

— ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ἄρτος τῆς ζωῆς.
— I am that bread of life.
John 6:49

— οἱ πατέρες ὑμῶν ἔφαγον ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ τὸ μάννα καὶ ἀπέθανον:
— Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
John 6:50
CA  sa ist hlaifs saei us himina atstaig, ei saei þis matjai, ni gadauþnai.
— οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ ἄρτος ὁ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καταβαίνων ἵνα τις ἐξ αὐτοῦ φάγῃ καὶ μὴ ἀποθάνῃ.
— This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.
John 6:51
CA  ik im hlaifs sa libanda, sa us himina qumana; jabai hvas matjiþ þis hlaibis, libaiþ in ajukduþ; jah þan sa hlaifs þanei ik giba, leik mein ist þatei ik giba in þizos manasedais libainais.
— ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ ἄρτος ὁ ζῶν ὁ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καταβάς: ἐάν τις φάγῃ ἐκ τούτου τοῦ ἄρτου ζήσει εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα: καὶ ὁ ἄρτος δὲ ὃν ἐγὼ δώσω ἡ σάρξ μού ἐστιν ὑπὲρ τῆς τοῦ κόσμου ζωῆς.
— I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
John 6:52

— Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
John 6:54

— This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever.

— πολλοὶ οὖν ἀκούσαντες ἐκ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ εἶπαν, σκληρός ἐστιν ὁ λόγος οὗτος: τίς δύναται αὐτοῦ ἀκούειν;
— Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
John 6:61

— It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
John 6:64

— But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.
John 6:65

— And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.

— From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

— καὶ ἡμεῖς πεπιστεύκαμεν καὶ ἐγνώκαμεν ὅτι σὺ εἶ ὁ ἅγιος τοῦ θεοῦ.
— And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
John 6:70

— Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

— He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.
