John chapter 14

John 14:1
CA  Ni indrobnai izwar hairto; galaubeiþ du guda jah du mis galaubeiþ.
— μὴ ταρασσέσθω ὑμῶν ἡ καρδία: πιστεύετε εἰς τὸν θεόν, καὶ εἰς ἐμὲ πιστεύετε.
— Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:2
CA  in garda attins meinis saliþwos managos sind; aþþan niba weseina, aiþþau qeþjau du izwis: gagga manwjan stad izwis.
— ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ τοῦ πατρός μου μοναὶ πολλαί εἰσιν: εἰ δὲ μή, εἶπον ἂν ὑμῖν ὅτι πορεύομαι ἑτοιμάσαι τόπον ὑμῖν;
— In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:3
CA  jah þan jabai gagga, manwja izwis stad, aftra qima jah franima izwis du mis silbin, ei þarei im ik, þaruh sijuþ jah jus.
— καὶ ἐὰν πορευθῶ καὶ ἑτοιμάσω τόπον ὑμῖν, πάλιν ἔρχομαι καὶ παραλήμψομαι ὑμᾶς πρὸς ἐμαυτόν, ἵνα ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ καὶ ὑμεῖς ἦτε.
— And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 14:4
CA  jah þadei ik gagga kunnuþ jah þana wig kunnuþ.
— καὶ ὅπου [ἐγὼ] ὑπάγω οἴδατε τὴν ὁδόν.
— And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
John 14:5
CA  þaruh qaþ imma Þomas: frauja, ni witum hvaþ gaggis, jah hvaiwa magum þana wig kunnan?
— λέγει αὐτῷ θωμᾶς, κύριε, οὐκ οἴδαμεν ποῦ ὑπάγεις: πῶς δυνάμεθα τὴν ὁδὸν εἰδέναι;
— Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
John 14:6
CA  qaþ imma Iesus: ik im sa wigs jah sunja jah libains. ainshun ni qimiþ at attin, niba þairh mik.
— λέγει αὐτῷ [ὁ] ἰησοῦς, ἐγώ εἰμι ἡ ὁδὸς καὶ ἡ ἀλήθεια καὶ ἡ ζωή: οὐδεὶς ἔρχεται πρὸς τὸν πατέρα εἰ μὴ δι' ἐμοῦ.
— Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:7
CA   kunþedeiþ mik, aiþþau kunþedeiþ jah attan meinana; jah þan fram himma kunnuþ ina jah gasaihviþ ina.
— εἰ ἐγνώκατέ με, καὶ τὸν πατέρα μου γνώσεσθε: καὶ ἀπ' ἄρτι γινώσκετε αὐτὸν καὶ ἑωράκατε αὐτόν.
— If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
John 14:8
CA   Filippus qaþuh du imma: frauja, augei unsis þana attan; þatuh ganah unsis.
— λέγει αὐτῷ φίλιππος, κύριε, δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρα, καὶ ἀρκεῖ ἡμῖν.
— Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
John 14:9
CA  þaruh qaþ imma Iesus: swalaud melis miþ izwis was, jah ni ufkunþes mik, Filippu? saei gasahv mik, gasahv attan, jah hvaiwa þu qiþis: augei unsis þana attan?
— λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ ἰησοῦς, τοσούτῳ χρόνῳ μεθ' ὑμῶν εἰμι καὶ οὐκ ἔγνωκάς με, φίλιππε; ὁ ἑωρακὼς ἐμὲ ἑώρακεν τὸν πατέρα: πῶς σὺ λέγεις, δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρα;
— Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
John 14:10
CA  niu galaubeis þatei ik in attin jah atta in mis ist? þo waurda þoei ik rodja izwis, af mis silbin ni rodja, ak atta saei in mis ist, sa taujiþ þo waurstwa.
— οὐ πιστεύεις ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρὶ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοί ἐστιν; τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἐγὼ λέγω ὑμῖν ἀπ' ἐμαυτοῦ οὐ λαλῶ: ὁ δὲ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοὶ μένων ποιεῖ τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ.
— Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
John 14:11
CA  Galaubeiþ mis þatei ik in attin jah atta in mis; jabai <ni>, in þize waurstwe [ni] galaubeiþ mis.
— πιστεύετέ μοι ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρὶ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοί: εἰ δὲ μή, διὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτὰ πιστεύετε.
— Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
John 14:12
CA  amen amen qiþa izwis, saei galaubeid mis: þo waurstwa þoei ik tauja, jah is taujiþ jah maizona þaim taujiþ; unte ik du attin gagga.
— ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ὁ πιστεύων εἰς ἐμὲ τὰ ἔργα ἃ ἐγὼ ποιῶ κἀκεῖνος ποιήσει, καὶ μείζονα τούτων ποιήσει, ὅτι ἐγὼ πρὸς τὸν πατέρα πορεύομαι:
— Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
John 14:13
CA  jah þatei hva bidjiþ in namin meinamma, þata tauja, ei hauhjaidau atta in sunau.
— καὶ ὅ τι ἂν αἰτήσητε ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου τοῦτο ποιήσω, ἵνα δοξασθῇ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν τῷ υἱῷ:
— And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
John 14:14
CA  jabai hvis bidjiþ mik in namin meinamma, ik tauja.
— ἐάν τι αἰτήσητέ με ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐγὼ ποιήσω.
— If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
John 14:15
CA  jabai mik frijoþ, anabusnins meinos fastaid.
— ἐὰν ἀγαπᾶτέ με, τὰς ἐντολὰς τὰς ἐμὰς τηρήσετε:
— If ye love me, keep my commandments.
John 14:16
CA  jah ik bidja attan, jah anþarana parakletu gibiþ izwis, ei sijai miþ izwis du aiwa,
— κἀγὼ ἐρωτήσω τὸν πατέρα καὶ ἄλλον παράκλητον δώσει ὑμῖν ἵνα μεθ' ὑμῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ᾖ,
— And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
John 14:17
CA  ahma sunjos, þanei so manaseiþs ni mag niman, unte ni saihviþ ina, nih kann ina; jus kunnuþ ina, unte is miþ izwis wisiþ jah in izwis ist.
— τὸ πνεῦμα τῆς ἀληθείας, ὃ ὁ κόσμος οὐ δύναται λαβεῖν, ὅτι οὐ θεωρεῖ αὐτὸ οὐδὲ γινώσκει: ὑμεῖς γινώσκετε αὐτό, ὅτι παρ' ὑμῖν μένει καὶ ἐν ὑμῖν ἔσται.
— Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
John 14:18
CA  ni leta izwis widuwairnans; qima at izwis.
— οὐκ ἀφήσω ὑμᾶς ὀρφανούς, ἔρχομαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς.
— I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 14:19
CA  nauh leitil, jah so manaseiþs mik ni þanaseiþs saihviþ; jus saihviþ mik, þatei ik liba, jah jus libaiþ.
— ἔτι μικρὸν καὶ ὁ κόσμος με οὐκέτι θεωρεῖ, ὑμεῖς δὲ θεωρεῖτέ με, ὅτι ἐγὼ ζῶ καὶ ὑμεῖς ζήσετε.
— Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
John 14:20

— ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ γνώσεσθε ὑμεῖς ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρί μου καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐν ἐμοὶ κἀγὼ ἐν ὑμῖν.
— At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
John 14:21
CA  Saei habaid anabusnins meinos jah fastaiþ þos, sa ist saei frijoþ mik: jah þan saei frijoþ mik, frijoda fram attin meinamma, jah ik frijo ina jah gabairhtja imma mik silban.
— ὁ ἔχων τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τηρῶν αὐτὰς ἐκεῖνός ἐστιν ὁ ἀγαπῶν με: ὁ δὲ ἀγαπῶν με ἀγαπηθήσεται ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου, κἀγὼ ἀγαπήσω αὐτὸν καὶ ἐμφανίσω αὐτῷ ἐμαυτόν.
— He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 14:22
CA  þaruh qaþ imma Iudas, ni sa Iskarjotes: frauja, hva warþ, ei unsis munais gabairhtjan þuk silban, þizai manasedai ni?
— λέγει αὐτῷ ἰούδας, οὐχ ὁ ἰσκαριώτης, κύριε, [καὶ] τί γέγονεν ὅτι ἡμῖν μέλλεις ἐμφανίζειν σεαυτὸν καὶ οὐχὶ τῷ κόσμῳ;
— Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
John 14:23
CA  andhof Iesus jah qaþ du imma: jabai hvas mik frijoþ, [jah] waurd mein fastaiþ, jah atta meins frijoþ ina, jah du imma galeiþos jah saliþwos at imma gataujos.
— ἀπεκρίθη ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ, ἐάν τις ἀγαπᾷ με τὸν λόγον μου τηρήσει, καὶ ὁ πατήρ μου ἀγαπήσει αὐτόν, καὶ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐλευσόμεθα καὶ μονὴν παρ' αὐτῷ ποιησόμεθα.
— Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
John 14:24
CA   saei ni frioþ mik, þo waurda meina ni fastaiþ; jah þata waurd þatei hauseiþ nist mein, ak þis sandjandins mik attins.
— ὁ μὴ ἀγαπῶν με τοὺς λόγους μου οὐ τηρεῖ: καὶ ὁ λόγος ὃν ἀκούετε οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμὸς ἀλλὰ τοῦ πέμψαντός με πατρός.
— He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
John 14:25
CA  þata rodida izwis at izwis wisands.
— ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν παρ' ὑμῖν μένων:
— These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
John 14:26
CA  aþþan sa parakletus, ahma sa weiha, þanei sandeiþ atta in namin meinamma, sa izwis laiseiþ allata jah gamaudeiþ izwis allis þatei qaþ du izwis.
— ὁ δὲ παράκλητος, τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον ὃ πέμψει ὁ πατὴρ ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου, ἐκεῖνος ὑμᾶς διδάξει πάντα καὶ ὑπομνήσει ὑμᾶς πάντα ἃ εἶπον ὑμῖν [ἐγώ].
— But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
John 14:27
CA  gawairþi bileiþa izwis, gawairþi mein giba izwis; ni swaswe so manaseþs gibiþ, ik giba izwis. ni indrobnaina izwara hairtona nih faurhtjaina.
— εἰρήνην ἀφίημι ὑμῖν, εἰρήνην τὴν ἐμὴν δίδωμι ὑμῖν: οὐ καθὼς ὁ κόσμος δίδωσιν ἐγὼ δίδωμι ὑμῖν. μὴ ταρασσέσθω ὑμῶν ἡ καρδία μηδὲ δειλιάτω.
— Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
John 14:28
CA  Hausideduþ ei ik qaþ izwis: galeiþa jah qima at izwis; jabai frijodedeiþ mik, aiþþau jus faginodedeiþ ei ik gagga du attin: unte atta meins maiza mis ist.
— ἠκούσατε ὅτι ἐγὼ εἶπον ὑμῖν, ὑπάγω καὶ ἔρχομαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς. εἰ ἠγαπᾶτέ με ἐχάρητε ἄν, ὅτι πορεύομαι πρὸς τὸν πατέρα, ὅτι ὁ πατὴρ μείζων μού ἐστιν.
— Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
John 14:29
CA  jah nu qaþ izwis, faurþizei waurþi, ei biþe wairþai, galaubjaiþ.
— καὶ νῦν εἴρηκα ὑμῖν πρὶν γενέσθαι, ἵνα ὅταν γένηται πιστεύσητε.
— And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.
John 14:30
CA  þanaseiþs filu ni maþlja miþ izwis; qimiþ saei þizai manasedai reikinoþ, jah in mis ni bigitiþ waiht.
— οὐκέτι πολλὰ λαλήσω μεθ' ὑμῶν, ἔρχεται γὰρ ὁ τοῦ κόσμου ἄρχων: καὶ ἐν ἐμοὶ οὐκ ἔχει οὐδέν,
— Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.
John 14:31
CA  ak ei ufkunnai so manaseþs þatei ik frijoda attan meinana, jah swaswe anabaud mis atta, swa tauja. urreisiþ, gaggam þaþro.
— ἀλλ' ἵνα γνῷ ὁ κόσμος ὅτι ἀγαπῶ τὸν πατέρα, καὶ καθὼς ἐνετείλατο μοι ὁ πατήρ, οὕτως ποιῶ. ἐγείρεσθε, ἄγωμεν ἐντεῦθεν.
— But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
