And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.
καὶ ἰδόντες οἱ φαρισαῖοι ἔλεγον τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ, διὰ τί μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίει ὁ διδάσκαλος ὑμῶν;
And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.
And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
Some of them that stood there, when they heard that, said, This man calleth for Elias.
The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elias will come to save him.
Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
καὶ εὑρόντες αὐτὸν πέραν τῆς θαλάσσης εἶπον αὐτῷ, ῥαββί, πότε ὧδε γέγονας;
And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither?
εἶπον οὖν πρὸς αὐτόν, τί ποιῶμεν ἵνα ἐργαζώμεθα τὰ ἔργα τοῦ θεοῦ;
Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
εἶπον οὖν αὐτῷ, τί οὖν ποιεῖς σὺ σημεῖον, ἵνα ἴδωμεν καὶ πιστεύσωμέν σοι; τί ἐργάζῃ;
They said therefore unto him, What sign shewest thou then, that we may see, and believe thee? what dost thou work?
Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
καὶ ἔλεγον, οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ἰησοῦς ὁ υἱὸς ἰωσήφ, οὗ ἡμεῖς οἴδαμεν τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα; πῶς νῦν λέγει ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καταβέβηκα;
And they said, Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? how is it then that he saith, I came down from heaven?
πολλοὶ οὖν ἀκούσαντες ἐκ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ εἶπαν, σκληρός ἐστιν ὁ λόγος οὗτος: τίς δύναται αὐτοῦ ἀκούειν;
Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
οἱ οὖν ἰουδαῖοι ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ ἑορτῇ καὶ ἔλεγον, ποῦ ἐστιν ἐκεῖνος;
Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
ἀπεκρίθη ὁ ὄχλος, δαιμόνιον ἔχεις: τίς σε ζητεῖ ἀποκτεῖναι;
The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill thee?
ἔλεγον οὖν τινες ἐκ τῶν ἱεροσολυμιτῶν, οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὃν ζητοῦσιν ἀποκτεῖναι;
Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?
ἐκ τοῦ ὄχλου δὲ πολλοὶ ἐπίστευσαν εἰς αὐτόν, καὶ ἔλεγον, ὁ χριστὸς ὅταν ἔλθῃ μὴ πλείονα σημεῖα ποιήσει ὧν οὗτος ἐποίησεν;
And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
εἶπον οὖν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι πρὸς ἑαυτούς, ποῦ οὗτος μέλλει πορεύεσθαι ὅτι ἡμεῖς οὐχ εὑρήσομεν αὐτόν; μὴ εἰς τὴν διασπορὰν τῶν ἑλλήνων μέλλει πορεύεσθαι καὶ διδάσκειν τοὺς ἕλληνας;
Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.
ἄλλοι ἔλεγον, οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ χριστός: οἱ δὲ ἔλεγον, μὴ γὰρ ἐκ τῆς γαλιλαίας ὁ χριστὸς ἔρχεται;
Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
ἦλθον οὖν οἱ ὑπηρέται πρὸς τοὺς ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ φαρισαίους, καὶ εἶπον αὐτοῖς ἐκεῖνοι, διὰ τί οὐκ ἠγάγετε αὐτόν;
Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him?
They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
The Pharisees therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy record is not true.
Then said they unto him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also.
ἔλεγον οὖν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι, μήτι ἀποκτενεῖ ἑαυτόν, ὅτι λέγει, ὅπου ἐγὼ ὑπάγω ὑμεῖς οὐ δύνασθε ἐλθεῖν;
Then said the Jews, Will he kill himself? because he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come.
ἔλεγον οὖν αὐτῷ, σὺ τίς εἶ; εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ ἰησοῦς, τὴν ἀρχὴν ὅ τι καὶ λαλῶ ὑμῖν;
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
ἀπεκρίθησαν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ, οὐ καλῶς λέγομεν ἡμεῖς ὅτι σαμαρίτης εἶ σὺ καὶ δαιμόνιον ἔχεις;
Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death.
εἶπον οὖν οἱ ἰουδαῖοι πρὸς αὐτόν, πεντήκοντα ἔτη οὔπω ἔχεις καὶ ἀβραὰμ ἑώρακας;
Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
οἱ οὖν γείτονες καὶ οἱ θεωροῦντες αὐτὸν τὸ πρότερον ὅτι προσαίτης ἦν ἔλεγον, οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ καθήμενος καὶ προσαιτῶν;
The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
ἔλεγον οὖν αὐτῷ, πῶς [οὖν] ἠνεῴχθησάν σου οἱ ὀφθαλμοί;
Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
εἶπον οὖν αὐτῷ, τί ἐποίησέν σοι; πῶς ἤνοιξέν σου τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς;
Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.
They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
ἤκουσαν ἐκ τῶν φαρισαίων ταῦτα οἱ μετ' αὐτοῦ ὄντες, καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ, μὴ καὶ ἡμεῖς τυφλοί ἐσμεν;
And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
ἔλεγον δὲ πολλοὶ ἐξ αὐτῶν, δαιμόνιον ἔχει καὶ μαίνεται: τί αὐτοῦ ἀκούετε;
And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?
ἄλλοι ἔλεγον, ταῦτα τὰ ῥήματα οὐκ ἔστιν δαιμονιζομένου: μὴ δαιμόνιον δύναται τυφλῶν ὀφθαλμοὺς ἀνοῖξαι;
Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?
Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.
And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.
λέγουσιν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταί, ῥαββί, νῦν ἐζήτουν σε λιθάσαι οἱ ἰουδαῖοι, καὶ πάλιν ὑπάγεις ἐκεῖ;
His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
τινὲς δὲ ἐξ αὐτῶν εἶπαν, οὐκ ἐδύνατο οὗτος ὁ ἀνοίξας τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς τοῦ τυφλοῦ ποιῆσαι ἵνα καὶ οὗτος μὴ ἀποθάνῃ;
And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
But some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him.
Philip cometh and telleth Andrew: and again Andrew and Philip tell Jesus.
The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him.
εἶπαν οὖν ἐκ τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ πρὸς ἀλλήλους, τί ἐστιν τοῦτο ὃ λέγει ἡμῖν, μικρὸν καὶ οὐ θεωρεῖτέ με, καὶ πάλιν μικρὸν καὶ ὄψεσθέ με; καί, ὅτι ὑπάγω πρὸς τὸν πατέρα;
Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father?
They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb.
They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them.
Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth.
And Simon Peter stood and warmed himself. They said therefore unto him, Art not thou also one of his disciples? He denied it, and said, I am not.
They answered and said unto him, If he were not a malefactor, we would not have delivered him up unto thee.
Then said Pilate unto them, Take ye him, and judge him according to your law. The Jews therefore said unto him, It is not lawful for us to put any man to death:
ἀπεκρίθη ἰησοῦς, ἀπὸ σεαυτοῦ σὺ τοῦτο λέγεις ἢ ἄλλοι εἶπόν σοι περὶ ἐμοῦ;
Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
And they said unto her, There is none of thy kindred that is called by this name.
And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
ἦλθον δὲ καὶ τελῶναι βαπτισθῆναι καὶ εἶπαν πρὸς αὐτόν, διδάσκαλε, τί ποιήσωμεν;
Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?
καὶ πάντες ἐμαρτύρουν αὐτῷ καὶ ἐθαύμαζον ἐπὶ τοῖς λόγοις τῆς χάριτος τοῖς ἐκπορευομένοις ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔλεγον, οὐχὶ υἱός ἐστιν ἰωσὴφ οὗτος;
And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. And they said, Is not this Joseph's son?
And they said unto him, Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but thine eat and drink?
τινὲς δὲ τῶν φαρισαίων εἶπαν, τί ποιεῖτε ὃ οὐκ ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν;
And certain of the Pharisees said unto them, Why do ye that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?
παραγενόμενοι δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν οἱ ἄνδρες εἶπαν, ἰωάννης ὁ βαπτιστὴς ἀπέστειλεν ἡμᾶς πρὸς σὲ λέγων, σὺ εἶ ὁ ἐρχόμενος ἢ ἄλλον προσδοκῶμεν;
When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again.
And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.
But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.

ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ μαθηταὶ ἰάκωβος καὶ ἰωάννης εἶπαν, κύριε, θέλεις εἴπωμεν πῦρ καταβῆναι ἀπὸ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἀναλῶσαι αὐτούς;

And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.
